“Did you do your own homework?” I ask my student. “Come on mister… you know I don’t like homework.” Over the years I have heard something similar to this too many times. In actuality, I think now I am running into this reaction more than I did just a short decade ago. I have to admit that this lack of work is worrying me a little. But… all isn’t lost… there is still hope… We can still win.
But first, take a look at this insight: If so many people are reluctant to do their own homework, or go the extra mile, especially when things get tough, consider what that means for the rest of us who are doing our own homework and going the extra mile in all that we do. We are more responsible. Don’t worry. Turning the word responsible around just means that we are able to respond. And isn’t that what we really want in this life; to be able to respond?
You see, where most people stop, is normally the same point where responsible winners are only getting warmed up and prepared to begin for real. So, if you are one these winners that keep going… CONGRATULATIONS! Just continue doing what you’re already doing… and if you’re a person who’s frustrated because you haven’t seen positive results yet, do not worry. Stay the course. Rome was not built in 1 day, and neither will your colossal dream life be built in 1 day. However, over time it will be constructed as long as you keep your habit of doing extra. And that doing additional all starts with doing your own homework.
Remember it pays always to do your own homework. And once again, thanks in advance for all that do, and all that you will do…
